Mountain forest extending across the prefectural border between Aomori and Akita, and registered as a World Heritage site in 1993. Primeval forest of beech trees offers an invigorating and magnificent sight.

Hirosaki Park is famous and is known for its Hirosaki Cherry Blossom Festival. Former samurai residences from the Edo period and western style architecture from the Meiji period in the city are preserved. In addition, Hirosaki City is full of sightseeing spots such as Hirosaki Castle and Saishoin Temple, a five-story pagoda.
Ajigasawa is the original site of the Tsugaru Domain and a famous historical crossing point for Kitamae boats during the Edo period. Enjoy the sunset over the Sea of Japan. Fukaura town is located next to the World Natural Heritage site, Shirakami-Sanchi mountain range is known for its twelve lakes, and “Blue Lake” is known for its beauty as though it were filled with blue ink.
